HNBCamViewer Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the HNBCamViewer application ("the App", "we", "us") handles information. It applies to the App on iOS, Android (including Android TV), and desktop. By using the App you agree to this policy.

1. Information the App stores on your device

The App stores the following locally on your device only. This information is never sent to us and we have no ability to access it:

• Camera connection details you enter: a name, IP address or hostname, port, stream path, and — if your camera requires them — a username and password. These are saved in your device's private app storage and are used solely to connect to your cameras.
• Snapshots: still thumbnail images captured from your camera feeds, saved in the App's private storage so previews load quickly.
• App settings, such as which cameras appear in multiview.

2. Camera video and audio

Live video and audio are streamed directly from your cameras to your device over your own network using the RTSP protocol. This traffic does not pass through any server operated by us, and we do not record, store, or transmit your camera streams.

3. Purchases and subscriptions

The App offers an optional Premium subscription. Purchases are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store your name, payment card, or billing details. The App only receives from the store a simple indication of whether your subscription is currently active, so it can unlock Premium features. Your purchase is governed by the applicable store's terms and privacy policy.

4. Information we do NOT collect

• No personal identifiers (name, email, phone number).
• No analytics, usage tracking, advertising, or advertising identifiers.
• No location data, contacts, photos library, or microphone access by the App itself.
• No accounts, sign-in, or cloud sync.
• No crash-reporting or third-party trackers.

5. Permissions

The App requests only the permissions it needs to function:

• Network / Internet access — to connect to your cameras and to communicate with the app store for subscription status.
• Billing (Android) — to offer the in-app subscription through Google Play.

6. Data storage and security

All data described above is kept in your device's private, per-app storage, which is not accessible to other apps under normal operating-system protections. Because the data never leaves your device, its security ultimately depends on the security of your device. We recommend using a device lock (passcode, Face ID, fingerprint) and unique passwords for your cameras.

7. Data retention and deletion

Your data remains on your device until you delete it. You can remove individual cameras and their snapshots from within the App. Uninstalling the App deletes all data it stored on your device. To cancel or manage a subscription, use your Apple ID (App Store) or Google Play account settings.

8. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Because the App collects no personal information from anyone, this is not a concern in normal use.

9. Third-party services

The App relies on the following third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Apple App Store / StoreKit (subscription purchases on iOS) — Apple Privacy Policy.
• Google Play / Google Play Billing (subscription purchases on Android) — Google Privacy Policy.
• VLC / libVLC media engine — used on-device only for video playback; it does not send your data to us or to VideoLAN.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
