Frequently Asked Questions

Where is my data stored?

All of your transactions, budgets, bills, and cards are stored locally on your device. The app has no account system and does not upload your financial records to any server.

How do I back up or move my data to a new phone?

Open Settings → Backup & restore. Export creates a JSON file you can save anywhere (Files, iCloud Drive, email). On your new device, use Import and select that file. Importing replaces the current data on the device.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free includes manual income & expense tracking with core categories. Pro unlocks unlimited categories, budgets, bill & loan reminders, insights, forecasts, reports, credit-card tracking, and backup & restore.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed through your app store. On iPhone: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancel any time; access continues until the end of the current period.

I bought Pro but it isn't showing.

Open the upgrade screen and use Restore Purchases, and make sure you're signed in with the same store account you purchased with. If it still doesn't appear, email us.

Why aren't my bill reminders appearing?

Make sure notifications are enabled for the app in your phone's system settings. Reminders fire ahead of each bill's due date, not immediately after you create them.

License

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app on any Apple or Android device that you own or control, in accordance with the app store's usage rules. This license does not allow you to resell, redistribute, or reverse-engineer the app.

For Apple purchases, the Apple standard Terms of Use (EULA) also apply.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 July 2026

Income & Expenses ("the app", "we") is built to respect your privacy. This policy explains what the app does and does not collect.

Data you enter stays on your device

Your financial data — transactions, budgets, bills, loans, credit cards, and settings — is stored only in local storage on your device. We do not have a server that receives or stores this data, and we cannot see it.

Backups you create

When you use Backup & restore, the app writes a JSON file to a location you choose. You control where that file goes and who can access it. We never receive a copy.

Analytics

The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand anonymous, aggregate usage (for example, which screens are opened and whether features work), which helps us improve the app. This data is not used to identify you and does not include your transaction details. See Google's Firebase Privacy & Security information.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by those stores under their own privacy policies; we never see your card or payment details. The app only receives whether an active entitlement exists.

Permissions

Data sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share your financial records with third parties. The only third-party services involved are the analytics and app-store payment providers described above.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves; the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly.
